If your days are anything like mine you're busy as sin right now with holiday festivities, fun, and family. So here's a picture of Slashables snoozing the afternoon away on Thanksgiving. Was that really just a few weeks ago?
The Christmas spirit seems to be a bit thin on the ground here lately chez Fluffy Flowers. There was a bit more of it a couple of weeks ago but not too much recently. Maybe its this heat wave we're having. Its been in the high 70sF (20sC) and yesterday broke some sort of record with 82F (27C). Hum. Its not beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Well, actually, thats not entirely true. As I look around the neighborhood I see all manner of Christmas lights. They're so pretty in their twinkly goodness. It seems the whole neighborhood is full of festive cheer. Now I just need to get myself into the mood. Do I dare admit I haven't even put up the trees yet? The boxes are down from storage but they haven't been touched since. Hum.
I'm aiming for Saturday y'all. Just a couple more days and I'm going to deck those halls within an inch of their lives I tell ya! I'll crank that Christmas music up to high heaven and slip a little festive cheer here, there and everywhere. And all just in time for the cold front to come through to cool us down to 53F(11C) on Sunday. I better get the hot chocolate ready and dig out It's a Wonderful Life. Or maybe my other favorite Christmas movie, Scrooged. Come on Christmas cheer, I'm ready for ya!

Sending loads of Christmas cheer your way! We're due to get snow and ice this weekend, so it will definitely be festive here.

LOL!! Sorry to hear about your terrible heat wave Felicia!!! he he he
Have fun trimming the tree!
Have you ever seen "A Christmas Story"? That is my absolute favourite holiday movie. I think we'll be watching that this weekend.

Oh my! If only I were closer, I'd bring my "Scrooged" dvd on over and help you deck them halls. You'll get the spirit back! It was in the 70's here too, and personally, I think that should be illegal in December!!

Sweet Slash...he's got the right idea, whiling away until Santa comes! Sorry the weather's not looking too frightful for Xmas there. You must add "A Christmas Story" to your viewing list, as Karyn suggest...it IS the ULTIMATE Xmas film. Just starting to decorate here. It's been some tough days recently, so my Xmas spirit has been slow taking flight. But we'll do the tree this weekend. And I have been baking, so that's something, right?! LOL! Happys Days decking your halls this weekend ((HUGS))

All the snow and cold we have had does make it easier to get into the Christmas mood! If it was warm and sunny I would have to be outside playing rather than crafting my gifts!
Have a good weekend getting ready for Christmas!

My tree has been up, but half decorated for like 3 weeks now. Sigh.

My hubby and I watched both of those movies just last week while we were getting into the Christmas mood! The cooler weather will definately help- I know we've had some 70-degree days recently, but now that it is in the 30s-40s, I'm feeling Christmas-y.

I have been having a hard time finding my Christmas cheer this year too... Although a bit of christmas music & some hot chocolate definitely helps! (Although I am not sure that the hot chocolate would be all that good with 80 degree temps:)

Love the picture of Slashables! Looks like he had too much turkey and is sleeping it off!

I think there is something special about Christmas in warm climates....the twinkly lights that you can COMFORTABLY walk around at night and savor!

Oh my gosh! As much as I know what you mean about snow during christmas time, if it were in the 70's, i'd take that too!! Lol...
Either way, it's all in the spirit hun, happy holidays to you and yours!

Sorry to hear about your heatwave! We're having snow right now and all the school buses were 1/2 hour late arriving home; I'd gladly send some "white stuff" your way - we have plenty.
Your cat on the sofa is too cute!!!

I'll send you our snow and ice! As for Christmas cheer -- you haven't seen anything until you've seen a 2 yo literally shaking with excitement because the Christmas tree was "in my house!" and she got to help decorate! Best dose I've gotten yet!

Yes, I do understand. I've been so busy making prezzies! I wish you a very merry christmas!!

I don't know how you gals do it. Thanksgiving is just tooooooo close to Christmas south of the 49th. Should we lobby for celebrating it at the same time?

I'm in the same boat-feeling very un-Christmasy, tree still in the box, and wishing it was sweater weather! I'm hoping that shopping for gifts tomorrow will make it feel a bit more like Christmas. Slashables looks so comfy, cozy, and cute!

Wow! It has been hot your way! We've had really cold mornings lately (well cold for CA - 33 degrees F this morning.)
Posted by: Jennifer | December 13, 2007 at 07:02 PM
It's amazing that I've got my tree up.
I'll second the last comment too. Farmer's Markets are not fun in 33 degree weather. What's that all about? California's supposed to be warm every day, lol.

Oh what a relief -- I've found a kindred spririt LOL. I'm aiming for tomorrow. Definitely feeling panic-y with everything to do!

It's getting cold here in Holland now, there' expecting below 0c this weekend!! And you know that gnome book is Dutch don't you? It's on my mum's bookshelf, never thought it find it's way to the states.
I put my tree up yesterday, all by myself as dd is at her dad's at the moment and I got myself the Sarah McLachlan album Wintersong, soooooo beautiful. Has my card reached you yet? Yours was the first on my door :-)

It's okay, I wasn't really in the mood either. We had several delays in putting up our Christmas tree and then in decorating it, so you can imagine how hard it was to actually decorate in the middle of what seemed like a heat spell after all that nice cold weather we had here.
Btw, thank you for the Christmas postcard. That was sweet of you. :)
