One of the greatest joys of gardening is finding surprise blooms.
I planted this Dr. Ruppel clematis last year and watered it faithfully. It promptly died. But the other day I was out in the yard, rounded a corner, and there it was. It's blooms have only increased since. I guess it needed time to get comfortable in it's new surroundings before putting on a show.
And the gardening fun continues!

beautiful! oddly enough, I had one do the exact same thing. My MIL had given me one and I'd taken my sweet time to plant it and thought I certainly killed it. the next Spring it came back and grew pretty big.

SO beautiful! Unfortunately, I've given up the idea of Clematis...cause' I keep killing them and they don't come back. At least I can enjoy them in your yard...
