Every once in a while there is a little known but super cool event that happens in the little ol' town of Macon, Georgia. Last week I found and attended one of these nuggets of gold.
The second annual Old City Flower Festival took place January 18-25, 2013 at Christ Church.
This incredibly beautiful Episcopal church was established in 1825 and was the first church congregation founded in Macon.
This awesome and free interfaith event featured flower arrangements from fourteen of Macon's oldest church congregations. And we all know how much I love fluffy flowers!
Unfortunely, I waited until the last day to attend this event so nearly all of the flowers had already been taken away by the time I arrived. So a tip for next year is don't wait until the last day to attend!
And there will definitely be a third annual event next January hosted by First Presbyterian church.
Stay tuned to my Georgia Garden Events page for next year's dates. Can't wait!
I haven't been to Macon in about 7 years! A flower festival in January would have been just the thing for my spring fever.

The flowers are beautiful, but so are the stained glass windows. I will just have to attend next year's event virtually through your photos! Keeps me warm when the temp barely got over zero today!
