This is my sweet tomboy kitty cat Slash a.k.a. Slashables a.k.a. Ables. He’s got the cutest slash mark up his back legs hence his name. He also had to fight the dogs to assert his place in the household so I figured this name would suit him just fine. He is the sweetest little thing in the world and is always the first creature to come over and offer comfort when anyone is in distress.
Slashables first showed up a few years ago when I was renting a house downtown. He actually belonged to a couple of college girls who lived on the next street. Hard to believe but that winter it snowed in Macon, Georgia and Slash was outside for two days shivering. I assumed that the girls had gone home for the holidays and left this poor kitty out to fend for himself. That was when I started feeding him. A few months later I moved into my newly restored house and with no reservations whatsoever I scooped Slash up and brought him with me.
A lot of people who see Slash remark on how large he is. Since I live with two pretty good-sized dogs, both height wise and width wise, I hadn’t noticed this fact. Slash is really a pretty good assistant. He helps me out a lot when I’m at the computer such as right now laying here wiggling his tail overseeing to make sure I don’t misspell too many things. He is an excellent shop assistant helping out with all aspects of weather station building.
This kitty rarely sleeps in the same place twice but this past winter something unusual happened. I brought home a load of groovy thrift store finds and threw them on my studio floor. Among the pile was an old fluffy coat I planned to make some creatures from. Slash proceeded to lie on that coat so I figured I’d grab it the next day and throw it in the washing machine. Well, when I went to snatch it up I discovered him all tucked up in a rounded ball snoozing away on it. He kept me company in the studio for two months sleeping on that coat.
Coats for pets (well, the pets thins so...)and snatching up kitties that were not being cared for very welllllll. well, that is my story. Oh, what a coincidence! Love Slash. At first I thought I might be seeing a Guns n' Roses character... hee hee...But then again, why would you ever even show him??? Hee hee hee... silly me...

It's funny he loved the coat so much.
(I can't help but notice that wonderful tree in the background. I know some boys who would love to climb that tree!)

What a handsome fellow! He looks a lot like my husband's boyhood cat, Rockey.

That's a good use for a thrift store coat! No doubt if you had made him a bed he'd have turned up his nose;)

AAAHHH! He's so cute! He reminds me of a special cat of mine (now gone) Liberi, also known as Bubba. He was large and the same markings!
Have a nice week ahead!

What a sweetheart! If he was outdoors in a snowstorm, he was there for the adopting!
