I know what's going to be on my nightstand this week, Janet Evanovich's latest Stephanie Plum novel, Lean Mean Thirteen. Who's with me?! Have I not convinced you to read this series yet? Have I not told you that I nearly wet myself from laughing so hard at these books? Laugh out loud funny ya'll. Really, they're worth a read and as extra incentive here is a little giveaway contest for you.
Up for grabs in this giveaway is a Joe/Ranger snowglobe filled with lovely red sparkles. This globe was made by yours truly to celebrate this new book. One side of the globe says Joe and the other side says Ranger. They're both surrounded by a cute little heart so you can face out which ever sweetheart you're thinking of that day. :)
Here's a little back story for those of you not in the know. Stephanie has two love interests throughout the series. Joe is the hometown boy she grew up with who broke her heart. They share similar backgrounds and sort of understand where the other is coming from. This has been an on-again off-again relationship. Ranger is the dark, mysterious hunky guy. He's a little frightening in a dangerous boy sort of way that is nearly irresistible. Stephanie and Ranger have had a playfully teasing relationship but nothing serious.
Now for the contest details. Leave a comment and tell me which fellow you would choose and why. You can enter even if you haven't read the series. I'll pull the lucky winner's name on Friday afternoon. I look forward to hearing your responses!
mmm difficult. In life I went for the slow and steady fire... so I guess in fantasy land I'll say 'go for mistery hunky guy, girl!!'
Then tell me all about it.
Sounds like a good series of books...

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I'm SO excited!!! (and mad at you)
Thanks to YOU I'm mid-way through book three and Ranger has NOT become a love interest yet!!! :)
I'm loving these books (thanks!!).
Oh, and I think I need to win because...
1. It's your fault I'm reading these books.
2. You spoiled the fact that Ranger becomes a love interest ;)
3. If I had a little globe with Joe's name in a heart, my Joe would think it was because I loved HIM so much and it would earn me brownie points. LOL!

I don't know, thinking Joe might be the best bet. I'm going to look this series up, always looking for new material to read. Thanx!

Oh I love this series, can't wait to read #13 and just must enter your contest! I honestly have had a hard time choosing between Joe and Ranger, but I'll go with Joe, since that is the name of my real life DH.

Felicia - I just found your blog and those sweater kitties are amazing! I love Winky! And I can never resist a contest, but I haven't read the books, this is the first time I've heard of them. But I have to say, maybe it's just a result of what I'm currently going through, but I would pick Ranger. Move on to something new, learn something about yourself by experiencing yourself through someone else. Picking Ranger is like picking progress, picking the future. But how do I really know, without reading the books. I may have to pick one up . . . .

Hmmm, I would have to go against type and say Ranger. I'm always so careful - let's be a little dangerous!

I would have to say Joe. Although he is somewhat too manly for me, he cares and protects, and he doesn't have a million secrets like Ranger.
13 about another one of his secrets. :) can't wait to read it.

Oh darn, that last comment was me. I am a dork.

Ok, this is not fair! Janet Evanovich does not even make Stephanie really CHOOSE between Morelli and Ranger. Hunky cop who loves here even as he is bewildered by her penchant for getting in major trouble. Dark, mystery man who declares he is only "dessert" (and like Stephanie -- dessert is my major food group!) but is amused by her and wildly attractive in a dangerous sort of way. Can I have them both? I promise I'll take good care of them!
PS -- the book is GREAT! I finished it in about two days (even with sharing with my husband who I got hooked on the books). Enjoy the read!

hey
i haven't read this series but i'd prob. choose Ranger as I'm a bit of a rebel at times and like to go against the norm. love that pirate mustard kitty from a few posts ago and your peaches are reminding me of a Blossom Dearie song so I think I must listen to some of the sweet lady's songs right now.

I've heard of Janet Evanovich but read any of her work or the series but I'm still going to leave a comment!
I have a hunch a would prefer "Ranger." To me this name implies a little wrecklessness. I also imagine that when I call his name, he'll look at me, but just with his eyes. Then, as he turns his head towards me, he's gonna smile one of those slow, shy, sexy, smiles that will make me glad I shaved my legs! Oh yeah!
(I'm probably way off about this character but hey, this was fun!)
:-)

Dang...left out some words...supposed to be "Janet Evanovich but *never* read any of her work." Also, supposed to be *I* would prefer Ranger. :-)

Well, I would probably pick Ranger. Who can resist the dark and mysterious "bad boy"?

Lulu is my personal favorite.

Ranger.
And go vote for yourself at Craftylily's! That was a great package you put together.

Sorry to say I haven't even heard of these books before now and will have to go check them out. Just from your post, I am already torn. Joe would be my first pick but I don't know that I could really let Ranger go either so it would probably be a life of sinny, sin, sin!!!
Posted by: angela | June 27, 2007 at 11:26 AM
i'd go for ranger all the way!
Posted by: rebecca | June 27, 2007 at 12:46 PM
I haven't read the books, but I have to say why choose at all? Keep them both guessing and enjoy the best of both worlds!!! However, if Ranger looked like Johnny Depp, he would be my choice-hands down!

I've been too bust to even notice your new blog contest.
After spending oh so many years chasing my own personal Rangers, I'd pick Joe. Having a meaningfull relationship based on interest, personalties and love, beats living on the edge and chasing a pipe dream.
Sounds like a good read

I certainly will end up having to read her books. I am on a roll myself with certain novels. There are a ton of people I have come across that love her books! When I do start to read them, I might start off with the first one in the series.
Posted by: KnitPastis | June 27, 2007 at 08:01 PM
Uh, did someone say Johnny Depp? Because I'm with her - if Ranger looks like him, then I'm in. So in.

My sister in law mentioned these books to me one time. She likes them a lot too. I'm glad you've reminded me.
You've been really busy
I really like your gnomes!

I would have to choose Ranger - just because bad boys are so irresistable! Thanks for the contest =)

If I enter again, do I have a better chance of winning???? *kidding* :) :)
Posted by: Karyn | June 29, 2007 at 12:35 PM
thanks for sending the link, great snow globe. A Magic 8 ball with both names would be a good thing for her too!
I'm loving the series, but have gone through them out of order. Still wonderful, and funnier and funnier as they go along.
