Fluffy Flowers is celebrating the arrival of the final book in the Harry Potter series with a week of giveaways. The random number generator says congratulations go out to Sarah of Small Fox in a Big World, yesterday's winner. We're starting over again today with another prize of assorted Harry Potter goodies. Included is a hand-knitted mini Weasley sweater on a hanger. Leave a Harry Potter comment and I’ll draw the winner’s name tomorrow around 5a.m. Next week we will return to our regularly scheduled blog.
Book 2 – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Favorite Quote
“Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain?” Arthur Weasley p. 329
Lovely knitting
“Harry opened the last present to find a new, hand-knitted sweater from Mrs. Weasley and a large plum cake.” P. 212
Fluffy Flowers
“Harry noticed Hagrid’s flowery pink umbrella leaning against the back wall of the cabin.” P. 117 I think we all know what’s in there!
A Page At Random
“’My friendly, card-carrying cupids!’ beamed Lockhart. ‘They will be roving around the school today delivering your valentines!’” p. 236
Rowling has admitted that Chamber of Secrets is her favorite book. Many HP fans have suggested that the key to the series lies in this book. What do you love most about book two?
I do rather like the Weasley abode, with all its funny architecture and bewitched domesticity. My least favorite--Moaning Myrtle, without a doubt!

I like how the friendship between Harry, Ron and Hermione is developed more in this book. I love the first book, but I really started feeling even more entrenched in this world and caring even more about these characters in this book.
I can't believe I missed day one! :-)

Also my favorite quote, and something to remember even in the Muggle world!

My favorite thing about book 2: Gilderoy! So over the top! So full of himself! He's a wonderful character : )

Ginny Weasley! Yes, I really like this often-overlooked character and she has a major role in this book, more than in any other so far. Her and the introduction/destruction of of the first of the Horcruxes(sp?) are the two main things for me in this story.

I also love Ginny. I just got back from the movies watching the 5th film... Oboy... some changes from the book, but still magical.

Love Ginny, LOVE The Burrow -- I wish they could have spent more time there, and I wish (yes, I know all the reasons why not, but still) that Harry could have just moved in with the Weasleys. I thought the Lockhart character was terrific, and that Kenneth Branaugh (sp?) did an amazing job in the movie.

I am so bummed I missed day one!
As I was sitting here reading this, my 11 year old was nearby, and wanted to be the one to leave what his favorite part of book 2 was.....so, from the mouth of charlie.....
my favorite part was when harry fights the basilisk. of course, who doesn't like that part?..or when he finds the diary in the bathroom!
:)

Oh how cute, I have to get on the ball and read some of these books! I've seen all the movies, but never seem to find the time to read anymore... too bad I can't knit and read at the same time.

There's so much I love about book 2. I enjoyed all the magic of the burrow, Harry's duel with Draco, and the further development of the main characters which we get in the chamber of secrets. Learning for example that Ron is afraid of spiders, which meant he was less than thrilled going with Harry into the dark forest to speak with Aragog, the giant spider that Hagrid raised.

What's not to love! I've read it a few times and every time I do I enjoy it just as much as the first time.

I think this might be my favorite book. I love the idea of the diary, the basilisk, and the chamber of secrets.

I'm just about to leave England for 2 weeks in US I have the Half Blood Prince with me so that I can refresh myself with the plot before starting the new one on my return. I live very near to the castle that doubles as Hogwarts for the films.
