One of my favorite places to take the dogs on the weekends is the Indian Mounds. The official name is the Ocmulgee National Monument but all the locals just call it the Indian Mounds. These mounds date back 10,000 years. Ten thousand years ya'll! That was a long time ago indeed. It sort of boggles the mind to think about it.
There's a lovely walking trail along the swamp we like to enjoy. You never know what kind of wild life you'll see out there. I've seen egrets, beavers, fish, deer, and snakes of all kinds. I could probably do without the snakes but they are part of the food chain I guess!
Thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last week. I've finished the book. I won't include any spoilers here but will only say that she saved the best for last. Please feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss it.
What a pretty place! The dogs must love it!

Pretty trail and my Nanny has that plant in her home, such pretty flowers on it. I'm already reading #7 and am frustrated i don't have more time to read it so I can finish it. So far so good, I'm on the edge of my seat. The last one was really good too.

The Indian Mound area looks wonderful. Do be careful of the snakes though. ;-) I wish I had kept up with reading the Harry Potter books and then I could e-mail you. Maybe in a few years I'll be caught up....Haha.

I'm reading as fast as I can, which isn't fast. I do have to say that HP 7 isn't disappointing!

Hi Felicia,
I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed the book. I've yet to pick up our copy, but Mr. Staggs and I went to see the latest movie on Saturday. Friday night my friend Liisa gave me a pair of H.P. glasses to wear. LOL!

Wow, what a wonderful place. It makes you wonder who lived there, and more importantly, how they lived.

There's an Indian Mound State Park in Wisconsin near my hometown we used to visit on school trips, plus more mounds at my favorite state campground. I love the shapes they created for their burial mounds. Maybe we should do that instead of gravestones, much more beautiful. I love your pics!
