I've been enjoying some of those delicious peaches from my backyard trees all this week. But by far I must say this peach cobbler recipe from my mother-in-law was the tastiest. She gave me the recipe over the phone while I quickly typed it out on the computer. When I looked back over the recipe later I had several hearty laughs not the least of which was the way I spelled 'flower'. Wonder where that comes from? :) I swear ya'll I really have been educated!
Peach Cobbler
1 c self rising flower
1 c sugar
1 c milk
beat til runny
poor over one stick of hot marg
poor 2 c peaches
slap back in oven real quick
oven should be about 400
when its brown its done, when its black its buggered
Holy cow that looks yummy. I could sadly eat that whole thing!!! :)

Peaches in your own backyard...That must be bliss! I miss real, good, juicy, tasty peaches. They aren't grown here, so the ones at the stores are imported, under-ripe and mostly tasteless...Your ripe gives me hope that I might transform some lifeless peaches into something delicious. Thanks...been ages since I had cobbler of any kind! Happy Days! :o)

Hi,
Thanks for checking out my blog today.
I wonder if I can make the same recipe with apricots. My friend gave me a bunch from her tree this morning.

My, that looks good. I laughed at the flower too! Will have to wait till peach season down under to try it - unless tinned peaches would work? Hmmm..

this recipe sounds fab! it is amazing to me, the varieties of cobbler. e's grandma's recipe for cobbler is a biscuity one... you do the fruit base then make a biscuit and put lumps of biscuit on top and bake it all together. soooo good. i need to try your variation now too :)
