Are we really well into February? Where has the year gone? It seems like I was just packing up and putting away the Christmas decorations. Now here it is already the second month of the year and I find flowers blooming outside my front door. Daphne to be precise.
It seems the older you get the faster time moves. When I was a kid I remember time moving so slow. So slow in fact that I can recall occasionally feeling bored. When was the last time you felt bored? I'm too busy these days to have the luxury of boredom. Too many responsibilities and things to take care of. Just stuff to do.
And when things are moving along so quickly its easy to miss those flowers blooming practically under your nose. Its easy to miss the color and the texture of things around you. So today I'm going to look around me and see what I see. I'll be on the lookout for the details that Nancy Drew never missed.
Speaking of details, if the weather is grey and horrible where you are this Etsy Plush Team Wild & Colorful treasury might be just what you need for a shot of energy. You might want to put your shades on before you go there.
I know exactly what you mean by "time flying"!
Pretty flowers, we're digging out after a snow storm here. You're lucky.

Time is flying, very scary. Birthdays are coming way too fast! That flower is beautiful, I love the big leaves of the plant too :)

Found you through etsy! According to some friends the spinning of the Earth on its axis is gaining momentum that's why it seems like time's going faster. It is. Eeeps.

What a BEAUTIFUL flower!!
I definately second your feeling of time flying by...I feel like I moved into my new place LAST WEEK and it has been almost 4 months. 2007 seems to have passed in the blink of an eye!

I was just thinking this morning about how we miss so many of the little things, the little blessings that come our way because of our distraction. I don't want to miss out on the beauty of life.

bored? Can't remember the last time really but I remember it being a catchcry of childhood- my kids don't say it anymore as they know they will get a list of jobs to do!

I've enjoyed catching up with your posts Felicia. I hope you're feeling better.
Your cat is a beautiful one.
I love the scent of Daphne, and always think it should be planted near the front door, to greet visitors. It's always a pleasant surprise when it blooms. Our camelias will be blooming in the next few weeks, and my Clematis Armandi is getting ready to open soon. It smells very nice too. I have it growing around my front porch. The smell of it always makes people ask, "What is that nice smell", and they take a little time to enjoy it. Just a moment here and there, to take it all in, makes a difference, I think.

Been months since I've had some flowers blooming in my yard. I really appreciate the picture of your flowers all the more as we're still in the grips of a white winter.
Yes, what is it with time getting faster the older I am?

Boredom seems like such a luxury now.
I wish I could slow time down in order to have more time to spend as I please, but strangely, I find time seems to sort of seem to last longer the more I do. The rare day on which I have a free schedule seems to go by like a whoosh.
