It was a beautiful weekend here in Macon, Georgia. I found myself out in the woods a lot and some of those woods felt like an enchanted forest. There were great big ol' blue skies with fluffy, cotton ball clouds.
Plus, teeny, tiny little mushrooms that can be easily trodden upon if you're not careful.
And every so often there'd be lush weeds sprouting branches of riotous color. There seemed to be something astonishing around every corner. I hope your weekend was full of such mysterious wonders!
Hi! Love the color combo! It is perfect for the Shades of Inspiration this week on the Sadie Olive blog. Hope you had a wonderful trip.

Oh those clouds! I love to look at and take pictures of cloud formations...And that fushia colored branch with the lime green buds! WOW! What amazing color! And yet so many people are just so busy they would walk on by without noticing! It is good you are taking the time. It sounds like you are enjoying yourself so much this Summer. :)

How cute is that itsy bitsy little mushroom?! When I was little, I used to LOVE to find things like that. We used to live out in the woods, and while my parents were at work, watching tv, doing parent stuff, I would wander off by myself and discover similar little mushrooms. I'd always pretend I was in Alice and Wonderland and come up with a silly story plot based around the mushrooms. Sometimes if I couldn't find any mushrooms, I'd base my stories around tiny purple flowers, and in the fall, leaves, haha. Awww, I'm glad I came to read your blog, because I haven't thought about my Alice in Wonderland adventures since I was 10 years old :)

Those mushrooms are too wonderful! And what lovely blue skies...we've been enjoying lots of clouds with bits of blue...kind of breaks up the monotony of all the sun however!

Such a sweet mushroom! And that branch is crazy--like Alison said, what is it?

I love reading your entries. The last photo is from a plant with the common name of pokeweed, also called pokeberry or inkberry (Phytolacca americana) native to the eastern United States. The berries turn a dark purple in the fall, and I believe they were used as ink and dye in the old days, hence the name inkberry. I believe the plant is poisonous when raw but the young shoots and the berries are edible if prepared properly and cooked. Thanks for sharing your walk.

That last photo is AWESOME... right out of Dr. Seuss or Alice in Wonderland!

Whoa, that pink and green thing is a weed? I love it! I guess the definition of weed is a plant that you don't want growing someplace. I would want that though.

I especially love the pokeweed - it looks like sculpture!
