Does it seem to you like the summer is rolling along like a boulder down a mountain? Much faster than you can catch it? Yes, it feels like that to me too.
I also feel like I haven't really gotten anything done. No major projects have been planned out and executed. No garden was planted, no big house projects, no major trips. But what I have gotten done is oodles of relaxation. I feel almost like a kid again enjoying such a lazy time. Its pretty fabulous.
I'm not entirely sure that I have more free time than usually. I think it just feels that way. I still have a family, housework, and a day job to keep me busy. Plus I'm back on my routine of regular powerwalking, which takes up a big ol' hunk of my day. Yet somehow I'm also managing to squeeze in reading much more than usual and I've enjoyed it immensely.
But if I sit and think about it I realize that its the things that I'm not doing that are giving me more time in my day. I'm doing a lot less crafting these days so I'm spending less time over in my shop. I haven't actually stepped foot in my studio in days, uh, I think I mean weeks. I haven't been very active in the online word either. And I haven't setup at my weekly farmer's market in a couple of months. I suspect having a break from these activities will make them feel more exciting and invigorating when I go back to them.
So essentially I think what I'm doing is having a staycation. A vacation which you take at home. Its cheap and relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
Yeah, it's going by fast for me, too. But, I'm not complaining, I love fall! :)

Your photographs are beautiful!
I think a staycation is, in many ways, better than a vacation. Enjoy it!

Ooh, I need me a staycation. Kids are still in school, but exhausted and cranky. Me too.

Lucky woman you are....You probably deserve it after so much crafting!
Love to think about summer, it is freezing cold here at the moment!
How pretty look those flowers, makes me feel warmer.

Yea for lazy girls!!! I have just about done the same thing. Laundry's piling up and I have some spots on the kitchen floor that I really out to scrub but.... the kids are all at friends houses, I think I'll go read!

Hi - Thanks for your comment on my blog. You made me laugh - I have recently lost 14 pounds just being careful about what I eat and power walking. I used to power walk with my son in his buggy - he has just turned 4 - he begged to go to kindergarten more often so he didnt have to be bored on my walks! The end of the school year has taken over and I have not power walked for a couple of weeks and I have put some weight back on. Poor kids - I am going to drag them along the seafront on a quick walk twice a day hopefully in the summer - probably wishful thinking! Will pop back again to read your blog - love Emma x

Enjoy your staycation :) I think that's a fabulous idea! We've been too busy sewing, making clothes, and writing tutorials to have much of a break, but it sure sounds nice. :) Enjoy!

Staycation, I love it! ;) I've noticed that my life moves in cycles or seasons too, so when I move away from certain activities, I know I will move back to them with, as you say, renewed enthusiasm! I love your creations though, they are so cute. I wish you could come to our farmers market up here in BC!
