I must have missed The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger when it came out a few years ago. Or maybe I was just too darn busy to pick up any book of fiction. But I've read it now at the recommendation of a friend and I'm so very glad I did.
This is a love story. Its told from many different perspectives of both time and experience of our two main characters, Henry and Clare. I worried at first that I'd have trouble following this complicated time line but I somehow managed it. Probably my experience following the many shifting time lines and characters from the Lost TV show helped prepare me for this book.
You don't have to like science fiction to enjoy this book. Its really less about time traveling then it is about the complicated lives of two people in love. This one's a keeper folks. And guess what else? They're making a movie out of it due out in December. How awesome is that?
My library book is laying on a very pretty pillowcase my mother in law embroidered for me for my birthday. Isn't is full of beautiful fluffy flowers? Speaking of embroidery, I'm off to read The Tenth Gift by Jane Johnson. That book should have some very pretty threads running through it!
my friend recommended that too and i read it about a year ago. so good! i didn't know they were making a movie... how great!! have a great weekend!

I loved Time Travelers, hubby read it too and enjoyed it. Its a really good book. Not often that there is a book that both of us like. The Road was another one we enjoyed, but its completely different from this book.

Thanks for reminding me about this book. I wanted to read it a year or two ago, but had forgotten about it. I've added it to my Amazon wish list so I won't forget again. :)

One of my favorite books of all time -- brilliantly conceived and brilliantly executed.

I gave the book the old 50-page attempt. I just couldn't get past having a naked, dazed man show up randomly. I'll try the book again. Memoirs of a geisha took three tries and it ended up being one of my favorites!

Oh, I loved that book! Such a beautiful story. :)
And it's a movie now?! Woo hoo!

I like science fiction but found this book not entirely to my liking. Henry manipulated poor Clare throughout. OTOH, the BFF loved it.
I love your rain pictures! and Ginger.

That book is on my top ten list of favorite books. I cried and cried at the end. I didn't know they were making it into a movie. I can't wait. I hope they do it justice!

So glad you liked the book. I thought you would, but you never know! Thanks for the info about the movie. I didn't know about that. Maybe it will fill the void left by the delayed Harry Potter movie! :)
