Here's a pile of Halloween goodies in need of organizing.
Ah, that's better. Isn't she a cute little scarecrow waiting patiently for Halloween?
And why, you may ask, am I using pine straw bales instead of hay bales? Well, hay bales are a little tough to come by round these parts. But you can buy pine straw bales for three bucks each just down the road. Best of all, you can break them up and layer them in your garden after you're done decorating with them.
I love Halloween.
Looking good! :-)

Oh my gosh, PINE STRAW BALES!!! What a great idea! I must send the children out with rakes today, this is right up my alley! Wonder how hard they are to bind? We may just find out today(or tomorrow).
For what its worth, I kinda like the first picture where all the pumkins are surrounding scarecrow. Like they've just tackled him or something. *G*

Ms. Observant here, totally missing that it was a pine needle bale and not a straw bale. And how in the world do they bale pine needles, anyway!? Funny, cuz around here folks rake pine needles out of their gardens. One gardener's trash is another gardener's compost - yes? Or something like that.

I've noticed some Halloween decorations going up on some of the houses around here too. Makes me want to bust out the fake spiderwebs and carve some pumpkins. I can't believe its almost October!

You are so good!
I usually don't get around to Halloween decorating until the weekend before.
Although every year I promise not to procrastinate.

I love most everything about autumn, and Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year.
I love the smell of gathered pine needles. It's a sort of sweet smell, and reminds me of campfire evenings and mornings with my coffee on a log, by a beautiful lake. I have a wonderful basket made from pine needles that my father in law gave to me. He bought it from a Native American woman who entered it in the fair. She won first prize for it. Sometimes, I just open its lid and breathe in that wonderful smell.
Your display is charming!
