One of the fab houses on the garden tour was this former waterworks station. It was built in the mid nineteenth century and used to supply all the fresh water in Macon, Georgia. Now it's a private residence and has been featured on HGTV.
And it's got lots of pretty garden areas!
Including these super secret courtyard...
totally perfect for relaxing...
...and big enough for partying...
...and you can still see where the water flowed!

They even managed to squeeze in a vegetable garden and a large parking area.
With pretty flowering chives.

How lovely! I always loved seeing all the beautiful garden spots in Macon. In picture #5, do you know what they do with the black iron Singer sewing machine treadle that's pictured there?
