I visited the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens way back in the fall of 2009. But I never got around to posting the delightful photographs from that trip.
Situated on the banks of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida, this historic garden is worth all your effort to see.
Isn't this place truly magical?
The gardens have a long history that includes the design of the Italian garden by famed female landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman. This garden has subsequently been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Read more about this garden in A Legacy in Bloom: Celebrating a Century of Gardens. Ask your local library to get it for you and plan a trip soon to visit this wonderful garden. If you can't make the trip check out this online tour.
What an amazing garden! I love the long views looking toward the water and the rectangular pool.
